Week 10- Exercise 23

My favorite exercises were deinitely learning how to edit my photos, as well as learning more about social networking sites. This program has affected my lifelong learning goals in that it has led me to realize that I really like learning more about new technologies and such that I didn't think I was interested in learning about. For use in the library, I think wikis would be a great way for the library community to interact with each other.

I enjoyed this program. Thanks!

Week 9- Exercise 22

Even though sites like iHCPL, LibriVox,and Wowio provide reading materials very quickly, I don't like audiobooks or e-books simply because neither gives me the satisfaction of holding a book in my hands and really getting to experience it. I do like how our library site offers eclectic, unique music choices that I've never heard of before; I've gotten a chance to check out music from other countries that I never would have gotten to otherwise.

Week 9- Exercise 21

I went to Podcast Alley and listened to a podcast called Free Talk Live, which I found very interesting. It was basically two guys ranting about the press, the government, etc. Podcasts are a great way to learn about differing opinions and viewpoints since many different kinds of people have podcasts.

I love giggling babies!

Week 8- Exercise 19

I think Zoho would be best for authors writing a Round Robin story in which one person would write a paragraph, then the next person will write a paragraph and so on. Since Zoho allows multiple users to access one document, it makes writing collaborations such as Round Robin much easier.

WEEK 8- EXERCISE 18

My concern with social networking sites is that so many people have left their sites unblocked as a way to try and make new friends. Honestly, I think it's best that all accounts and blogs be blocked and to just use those accounts to keep in touch with your current friends. The world wide web just doesn't strike me as the greatest place to make new friends, there are some crazy people out there. But if you stick with the friends you made in the real world and safely keep in touch with them on a blocked site, then social networking sites are a great, highly useful tool. I didn't have any preferences out of any of those sites because I have to admit that I'm old fashioned and would prefer to stay in touch with my friends either on the phone or in person.

WEEK 7- EXERCISE 17

When I was growing up, I had to do everything manually, I didn't even have a calculator. But now, technology has just entered and taken over every aspect of my life so that now I have become dependent on technologies such as the internet. It's just amazing the internet can do so many things leading us to no longer need to go to stores to shop, to no longer have to watch TV to see our favorite shows, to no longer need to own a Yellowbook to look up phone numbers, and even to no longer need to call Pizza Hut to order a pizza!

I wonder if the internet will one day lead to people to no longer need to go to the library to check out materials. But then what about my job?
